Forfatterbiografi

William Gibson (født 17. marts 1948 i Conway i South Carolina) er en amerikansk-canadisk forfatter, essayist og en af hovedskikkelserne i udviklingen af cyberpunk. Han er kendt for at skrive science fiction med fokus på digitale netværk, teknologiens hverdagsliv og de menneskelige konsekvenser af et forbundet samfund. Hans internationale gennembrud kom med romanen Neuromancer, som blev udgivet i 1984 og regnes som en milepæl i genren. Neuromancer vandt de store science fiction-priser Hugo Award og Nebula Award samt Philip K.
