James Joyce (født 2. februar 1882 i Dublin, Irland, død 13. januar 1941 i Zürich) var irsk forfatter og en af det 20. århundredes mest indflydelsesrige modernister. Hans litteratur er især kendt for at forny den realistiske fortælleform gennem eksperimenter med sprog, perspektiv og rytme samt for en tæt skildring af hverdagslivets små detaljer, tanker og sociale stemninger.
