Charles Bukowski (født 16. august 1920 i Andernach, Tyskland; død 9. marts 1994 i San Pedro, Californien) var en tysk-amerikansk forfatter, især kendt for sin poesi, prosa og noveller. Hans arbejde forbindes ofte med “dirty realism” og med en modernistisk, antielitær stil, hvor hverdagsliv, voldsom sprogbrug, sex, alkoholisme og en barsk skildring af et forslidt samfund spiller en central rolle. Bukowski skrev på tværs af genrer som digtning og fortællende litteratur, og hans stemme blev tydelig gennem både stærkt rytmiske digte og fortællinger, der kredser om overlevelse, nederlag og et uforbeholdent syn på mennesket. En af hans kendte digtsamlinger er War all the time: Poems, 1981-1984, som samler materiale fra begyndelsen af 1980’erne.
