Forfatterbiografi

Bruno Latour (født 22. juni 1947, død 9. oktober 2022) var fransk filosof, sociolog og antropolog med særlig indflydelse på feltet for videnskabs- og teknologistudier. Hans arbejde udfordrede skarpe skel mellem natur og kultur og lagde vægt på, hvordan viden og autoritet skabes i konkrete praksisser. Latour blev især kendt for udviklingen af actor-network theory (ANT), hvor menneskelige og ikke-menneskelige aktører forstås som medvirkende i sociale og institutionelle sammenhænge. I The Making of Law udforsker Latour, hvordan lov bliver til gennem de netværk af aktører og procedurer, der stabiliserer juridiske beslutninger. Bogen er dermed beslægtet med hans bredere projekt: at følge, hvordan sammenhænge bygges op, og hvordan forestillinger om det “objektive” materialiseres. Ud over bidraget til studiet af lov og jura har Latour også sat tydelige spor med værker som Science in Action og We Have Never Been Modern, der har præget samtidens teoretiske sprog på tværs af humaniora.
